1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the platform, and limited information from trusted service providers.
- Account details: name, email address, profile photo, and short bio when you sign up or edit your profile.
- Authentication: one-time email codes for login/sign-up, or Google account information when you choose “Continue with Google”.
- Host verification: identity and payout details you submit during host onboarding (such as PAN, bank details, and verification photos or video, where applicable).
- Trip content: trip titles, descriptions, photos, itineraries, pricing, and messages you send through JoinMyHost.
- Booking and payment: trip selections, booking status, and payment references processed through our payment partner. We do not store full card or UPI credentials on our servers.
- Device and usage: basic logs such as browser type, IP address, pages visited, and error reports to keep the service secure and reliable.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to operate JoinMyHost, keep users safe, and improve the product.
- Create and manage your account and sessions.
- Show trip listings, process bookings, and display booking history.
- Verify hosts, prevent fraud, and enforce our messaging and payment rules.
- Send transactional emails such as login codes, booking updates, and support replies.
- Provide customer support and respond to disputes or refund requests.
- Analyze aggregated usage to improve performance, design, and trip discovery.
3. Legal basis and consent
Where applicable under Indian law, we process personal data to perform our contract with you (for example, completing a booking), to comply with legal obligations, to protect legitimate interests such as fraud prevention, and with your consent where required (for example, optional marketing communications if we offer them in future).
By creating an account or using JoinMyHost, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. You may withdraw consent for optional processing by contacting us, though core account features may no longer work.
5. Payments
Payments on JoinMyHost are processed by Razorpay or other payment partners we may use from time to time. Payment partners collect and process payment information according to their own privacy policies and applicable regulations. We receive limited payment metadata (such as payment status and transaction references) needed to confirm bookings and support refunds.
6. Messages and safety
Trip and inquiry messages are stored so hosts and joiners can coordinate. We may automatically mask or block contact details and off-platform payment requests to protect users. We may review messages when investigating abuse, fraud, or policy violations.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Host verification media may be deleted after verification is complete, as described during onboarding. You may request account deletion subject to legal and financial record-keeping requirements.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure session handling. No online service can guarantee absolute security; please use a strong, unique email account and report suspicious activity promptly.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, and to raise a complaint with a supervisory authority.
